Leaders are responsible for making decisions.
But what happens when the leader is in a meeting…traveling…or simply needs a break?
Many teams stop the presses. They halt their organization’s progress on all fronts until they can get their leader to weigh in.
Is that an effective way to accelerate success?
David Ogilvy clearly didn’t think so when he said:
“Hire people who are better than you are, then leave them to get on with it. Look for people who will aim for the remarkable, who will not settle for the routine.”
The best leaders hire people they trust to take the reins when necessary.
Hope your meeting goes well today, Don.
We’ve got your back.
